2003 Trip
November 2003 was the first mission trip the Children's Ministry organised. With a team of nine children and six adults, the group set out to Chiang Mai, Thailand for six days of mission work. From 25-30 Nov (Tues-Sun), the team visited Sanphranet and Sansri schools which are government schools that the Methodist Missions Society (MMS) had been working with. The team also learned to pack dried longans which were sold to raise funds, visited the Care-Corner orphanage and finally Santi Methodist Church in Santi village (KKMC's church planting programme few years back). The team did a one-day vacation bible school (VBS) programme at Santi where children from Santi village and the nearby Huey Muang village attended. In the middle of the trip, we brought the children to the elephant camp where the children got to witness elephants playing soccer and painting as well as a half-hour elephant ride through the hills. The team also went to the night market for Christmas shopping.
