Youth Ministry: Events

Ministry Teams

The Youth Ministry has teams and sub-committees that help to organise and run the many activities for the youths. We encourage our youths to take an active role in running the teams and events. Here's a summary of the teams and their tasks.

Youth Worship Team

God is the creator of music and we are truly grateful to Him for this gift. It is because of this gift of music that many of the youths in KKMC have been brought together.

The Youth Worship Team was formed on 29 January 2005 with only four youths - Brian, Elizabeth, Jina and Randall. Ever since then, the Youth Worship Team has more than doubled in number and growing. It now has a full band to provide worship for all the youth events.

Current members include Randall Ong (LG6 / leader), Pang Lixin (YAF), Pang Lihui (YAF), Wallace Chin (YAF), Brian Tan (LG5), Jina Foo (LG5), Jason Long (LG5), Elizabeth Tay (LG4), Kegan Ang (LG4), Faith Cheong (LG4), Kristin Bong (LG3) and Charmaine Tay (LG2).

Being in the Youth Worship Team has helped all of us to grow and mature together. Come to think of it, what better way to grow up, than to grow up praising the Lord together!

As we continue to grow together in Christ, we invite anyone who is interested in music to join us. Come join the team and let us sing as one voice to our Audience of One.

Publicity Team

The Publicity sub-committee brings you the juiciest top stories and breaking news in the KKMC Youth community. Wanna know what's up with the youths? Then drop by our youth boards in the social hall and on Level 4 regularly. Ignorance is not bliss. The current team consists of Ann-Marie Ng (LG5 / leader), Jocelyn Chng (LG5), Ong Lianne (LG2), Kaye Cheong (LG2), Joy Cheong (LG2), Abigail Nyam (LG1) and Megan Kuek (LG1). If you have a creative flair, then you are the one we are looking for. Contact Ann-Marie today!

Media

Nothing escapes the roving eyes of the Media sub-committee. All youth events and every precious memory are captured in pictures and videos. The team is also responsible for the AV systems of all youth events. The team is currently made up of:
  1. Phoebe Ng (LG6) - leader/video editing
  2. Ivan Chua (YAF) - videographer/ photographer
  3. Randall (LG6) - videographer/photographer/AV
  4. Jon Zhang (LG4) - video editing
  5. Brian Kuek (LG3) - webmaster/videographer
  6. Jeremy Yeo (LG3) - webmaster
  7. Mitchell Tan (LG1) - photographer
Calling all youths! If you are interested in any of the above roles, kindly approach Phoebe.

Wordship

What do you get when you put 'words' and 'worship' together? Wordship! This budding youth songwriting group consists of Elizabeth Tay (LG4 / leader), Randall Ong (LG6) and Grace Toh (YAF). The three of us find joy in expressing our worship to God in the form of words and music, composing songs as our offerings to God, and serving as inspiration to those around us. For Youth Sunday this year, Wordship will be presenting a song written by Elizabeth, entitled "I Want To Be". It talks about how magnificent God is and how we want to be like Him, a reflection of Him. It also brings across the message that as youths, we are passionate for Christ and want to serve Him with all our hearts. We want to follow after Jesus. All our compositions are inspired by the Lord, whose amazing love never fails to move us and bring us closer to Him. We welcome anyone who shares this same passion to join us in the Wordship family. God bless, and we hope to share more songs with you in time to come!

BlinG

Isn't it true that youths are energetic? What better way to release that energy than dancing to the Lord. BlinG (not to be mistaken with the hip-hop fashion) stands for "Believing in God". Since the group was formed in March this year, today's Youth Sunday dance offertory entitled "My Praise" will be our inaugural peformance. This dance was choreographed by Jolyn Foo (LG3) and presented to you by Kegan Ang (LG 4 / leader), Grace Toh (YAF), Pang Lixin (YAF), Randall Ong (LG6), Phoebe Ng (LG6), Jason Long (LG5), Shawn Yeo (LG5), Jonathan Zhang (LG4), Elizabeth Tay (LG4) and Charmaine Tay (LG2). As we bring you this dance (our dance to God), we pray that it will minister to you, and that you will enjoy it just as much as we do. Now, if you have lots of energy and can move your hands and legs, then STOP sitting on the pews. Come and join us!
